What is Green Roofing?
Green Roofing is where the roof of a building is partially or completely covered with vegetation, planted over a waterproofing membrane. It may also include additional layers such as a root barrier, drainage, and irrigation systems. This type of roofing is also known as vegetative roofing.
What are some different types of Green Roofing?
Intensive green roofs are usually thicker and are able to support a wider variety of plants but are heavier and require more maintenance, whereas, vegetative green roofs or extensive roofs are covered in a light layer of vegetation and are lighter than an intensive green roof.
